Most golfers think the short game is about chipping and putting, but if you’re reading this, your short game excels off the tee.
So we’re here to help you with a few tips to refine your short game taken from our new upcoming book, “Grip It and Top It: Maximising Your Wedge Distance with a Driver”:
- Tee Height: Lower is better. You want the ball to barely escape the gravitational pull of the Earth.
- Driver Grip: Hold it like you’re climbing a rope in the gym and worried about the burns if you let go. Tightest tension possible, interlock either all fingers or none.
- Stance: Stand confidently, even if your ball ends up behind you somehow. Confidence is key to pretending you meant to do that.
- Club: Buy the newest and most expensive driver possible. It will greatly hold its value when you go to upgrade in a few rounds because you’ve barely managed to touch the face with a ball yet.
- Balls: Once again, high-quality and expensive. It’s worth it because you’re unlikely to lose any over such a short distance.
